Old Web Pages

So I’ve been on the web for a while. I remember surfing gopher sites and watching as the text appeared on the screen, line by line. I have preserved my old web pages here for posterity and personal amusement (mostly personal amusement). I stripped the email addresses out — they don’t work anyway — and removed small parts I considered uninteresting or embarrassing.

Expect most external links to be broken, alas, such is the nature of the changing web. Some downloads are also missing, but it’s not like anyone really wants to know how to write graphics code for Macs from the 1990s.

Web Page #1 is from 1999 or so. It was originally hosted on GeoCities. The web page graphics were all done in Photoshop 2.5, which was already seven years old when I made the page.

Web Page #2 is from 2000, when we got dedicated DSL connection and ran a Red Hat Linux 6.1 server behind it. That’s Red Hat Linux, not Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Through the magic of IP masquerading, the entire house could use the internet at the same time! I had access to Photoshop 5.5 for the graphics this time.
